Baby Boone Sighting

Okay, We always know where Baby Boone is...but today we got to see the baby on Sonogram TV for the second time. I am glad to report that the baby is in the 50th percentile of size if its due date were ...April 11th. That's right, another bump up in the due date! Either it is growing at an exponential rate, or it is going to be one LARGE baby. At any rate, the pool for naming the baby's birth date is more uncertain than ever.

I am really starting to wish that our childbirth classes were sooner than the end of March!

What you are looking at here is a 3D ultrasound of the baby's face. You can see the nose and eye sockets, lips, forehead, and a little claw of a left hand, already in good form for playing the piano. This ultrasound wasn't as impressive a show because there is much more baby, and we can't get as much of it in the frame, but we did get smiling baby pictures this time. It was squirming around in there during, and had its left hand up the whole time, as if shy.

Chris and I could not stand the surprise anymore, so we did ask for the gender of the baby to be revealed. For all of you Grandparents who guessed BOY...let the gloating commence now! We will have some BOY-specific decisions to make right off the bat (that was not meant as a pun) so it is good we can contemplate our choice, and focus on the name too. We were going to be delighted either way, and now it is good to have a couple months of knowing.

Our friend, Ann Marie, is sorry to learn that this was her first incorrect guess out of nearly a half dozen right ones, but she is pleased to know that her future little league baseball team is filling-out nicely!

woo hoo!!!! I knew he looked like a little man in there. Unfortunately this time I don't see a nose, eye socket or claw hand. Maybe my imagination is tired of all that for the day.

Congratulations!

Of course the Pittsburgh contingent of grandmas are very happy! Now we don't have to re-paint the blue crib that was graciously donated by a good friend...This ever-changing due date is quite interesting! Seems like the little one will be here before we know it.

Keep up the good work and take it easy while you can!
Love, Grandma Crystal

Congratulations on your first son...and I guess he's coming so soon we should pack a bag NOW. Thanks for sharing the picture and not keeping us in the dark (even though baby Boone is still in the dark - but we digress...) Stay healthy and sleep well. God will do the rest.
Love,
Mom & Dad

Glad see the new views of Owen- Up Close & Personal and as a "bigger belly bulge" in his slim trim Mom. You look pretty sharp Jess!

I am glad that you had the 2nd Ultra-sound, if for no other reason, than now I know whether to get a Barbie Camper or an X-Men outfit for the little kid. (I like having some direction to go with.)

I was curious about your doctor's request to have the 2nd Ultra- Sound in order to judge Owen's due date. Did he/she expect that (A)the more developed fetus would soon be wearing a wrist watch set to his own biological clock? ....or(B) that the ultra-sound image would be accompanied by a telling Microsoft digial clock in the lower right-hand corner of the screen? In either event I hope the earlier change to Daylight Savings time does not cause any major disorientation to either Owen, his parents, or his software. (We all might need a Microsoft patch before we're done!)

I like the name you're going with, but everytime I think of a kid from Jersey named Obama Boone! it makes me smile. Maybe if he becomes a professional drummer, he could adopt a stage name like- OBAMA BOONE!

There is definitely a lot of corn in Iowa. What can I say?
