Owen Boone here...My mom is typing this for me, but I am telling her what to say. I am doing a lot more talking these days. Mom and Dad are slowly learning to understand me, but a lot of the time they just have silly grins on their faces, and they make nonsensical sounds back at me. Fortunately, I am a very patient child.
Today I am going to my first music class this afternoon. My new buddy, Jeremy, suggested that I start some classes to learn how to move to a beat and sing songs. I don't know what a beat is, but I really had fun when Jeremy danced around with me in his arms!
This past weekend, I got to see my friend, Katie. She works with my Daddy, and she has the prettiest smile! She brought Mom and Dad cupcakes, and they were really happy about that. They laughed for a long time after putting me to bed. Katie couldn't believe that my Mom could just wrap me in my swaddler, say, "Goodnight, Owen" and leave me to fall asleep in our bedroom...but I like sleeping, and feeling well-rested. That's why my bedtime is usually around 8pm, and I can sleep all the way until 4:30am or even 5:30am before I have to get up and eat again. Then I usually go back to bed until 9am.
When I am dreaming, I practice all the new things I want to do the next day, like rolling over on my side, or reaching out to grasp my toys. I grunt and groan while I reach and stretch because these are new things that I find challenging. I can't quite do them yet, but I keep trying every day. Mom and Dad just cheer me on. They say there are things I have to learn to do for myself, even if I am frustrated. Sometimes when I am overtired, or frustrated from trying something new, I am pretty fussy...but I still flash a smile at my Mom in the middle, just to let her know that I still like her, even though I feel grumpy at that moment.
On this Friday, we are flying to Cincinnati. I fly in my dreams, but my parents say this is a different kind of flying. They say we are going to visit Grandma and Grandpa Boone, and I really like them. I have shared some of my best naps with Grandpa, and Grandma might not even recognize me because I have grown so much since the last time they saw me. They saw me when I was two weeks old...a baby! Just wait...they won't believe their eyes.
Well, Mom is getting tired from typing, so I will say goodbye.
love,
Owen

What a gorgeous baby you have! Have a great trip back to Cinci...we were there in June and had a great time.
If you ever feel like visiting Philly...we're actually just across the river from Trenton...so quite close to you. Although it sounds like you have plenty of travel coming up.
Thanks for popping in on my blog!

Dear Owen,
It was so nice visiting the other day!! I think your smile beats out every else. Thank you for being so excellent while I was there! I am still impressed by you. And dont worry, rolling over will happen so fast, it will just make you want to crawl.
Love to Mom and Dad!
Katie
